I know that this isn't particular to the region of the country wherein I currently reside, as idiocy is a universal language, but I have had to address some strange and disturbing statements in classes recently.
"The moon landings were staged, in Hollywood, the entire space race is a conspiracy." The question of course is to what end, right? I was half surprised that this comment wasn't somehow connected to anti-Semitic screed.
"When I was on post in South Korea, all the Koreans were Islamic terrorists." What?
"Is there a difference between the United States of America and America? I mean, can I refuse to use my social security number and then not have to pay taxes?"
How do some people graduate out of the 8th grade?
