The end of Zack Greinke's no earned runs allowed streak was bound to happen eventually, and Toronto wasted no time this evening in doing so - putting a run up in the first and another in the third. But even on a night where his command wasn't perfect and both sides quibbled with the homeplate umpire, the Jays managed only 2 runs total through Greinke's 7 innings (8 strikeouts, an uncharacteristic 2 walks), and the Royals offense exploded in the middle innings, leading to a game that was not close (11-3 victory).
For the season, Greinke:
5-0 (first in majors to 5 wins)
.50 ERA (leads majors)
44 Strikeouts (tied with Johan Santana for majors lead)
8 walks
WHIP: .89
BAA: .188
