It is snowing this evening, with more on the way tomorrow. I have never been much of an outdoors type, and that includes winter, but increasingly I feel a sense of loss at not taking advantage of my current geography. Part of this had to do with the dissertation, which weighs on the mind in a fashion I can only imagine successful murderers would understand. The depth of my hatred for the document and the way it has ruined my life over the last few years is hard to describe.
Looking out at the beautiful landscape, the softness that snow brings, reminds me that work, no how much enjoyed, is a burden lifted only by diligence.
